We had the pleasure of dressing Emer in Love Ellie Bridal during the pandemic and we had such good fun with her, we were absolutely thrilled she decided to be a part of our blog series! Here is a little insight into Emer and Eoin’s wedding day in May 2022. When Emer came to us for her first bridal appointment, it felt like she was an old friend coming over for tea! She has the most charismatic personality, so it is no surprise that Emer’s now husband Eoin fell for her while she was working in a coffee shop in Dublin..... and over numerous chats asked her out for lunch and the rest, as they say, is history!
What was the most fun part of your wedding day?
I loved getting ready with the girls in the morning it was so fun and chilled! And when myself and Eoin had our first dance and ran through a bridge of sparklers held by our friends it was constant laughter and smiles!
What kind of ceremony did you guys have?
Civil ceremony with the beautiful Shona Weymes as our celebrant.
What was your overall wedding style?
Rustic
What was your experience like searching for your dress?
The experience in Love Ellie Bridal was so fantastic. I had been to 3 other bridal shops but I felt so welcome and special in Love Ellie Bridal. I was by myself due to covid so I was nervous about not having the opinions of my loved ones in person. But I honestly felt like a princess trying on wedding dresses. My advice to anyone would be to have fun with it, try on everything, you never know what you might love!
How did you know it was THE Dress?
I knew I wanted something with sleeves and a bit of sparkle and I had seen the dress in Love Ellie Bridal on Instagram. I was so nervous it wouldn’t look right on me or how I imagined it, but when I tried it on I knew instantly. I tried on about 3-4 beautiful dresses before putting on ‘the one’ and it just took my breath away. It had absolutely everything I wanted and I just didn’t want to take it off – I just wanted to dance there and then! Debbie and the girls made the whole experience so special and were so warm and lovely. I video called my Mum and seeing her face just confirmed it was the one.
What other accessories did you wear?
The dress was so beautiful and had so much sparkle I knew I didn’t need many accessories, so I wore pearl drop earrings from Newbridge Silver and my engagement ring. My shoes were divine gold Loeffler Randall heels that were so stylish but also extremely comfortable.
If you could give brides-to-be one piece of advice, what would it be?
My advice would be to stay true to what you want. There will be many opinions leading up to your wedding, but it is your day so be true to yourself and just have fun! Also make sure you schedule in 30 minutes alone with your future spouse on the day. You will both be so busy talking to other people and myself and my husband asked the staff to give us 30 minutes of precious alone time to have a drink and a chat on the day and it was wonderful.
